Bananas are full of slow-release sugars. These provide sustained energy. They are the perfect first baby food as they are easy to obtain, easy to carry and come in their own packaging! They are also a great treatment for diarrhoea and constipation.
Top tip: if you have over-ripe bananas, pop them in the freezer until hard then puree for an instant cooling ice cream
1 x small banana
1. Peel banana and mash with a fork.
2. During the first stages of weaning, use a little breast milk or formula to mix into the banana to achieve a thinner consistency.
